Do these things have a check valve installed in one of the components like the automotive ones do? I use a 1/4" automotive quick disconnect for one of my cannons and it has a check valve to keep the pressure in, but I'm not sure if these things have that. Any idea?

No they don't.
You can pick the variant with slide valve incorporated.

That one looks pretty nice. It looks like I could connect that right to the rear end cap. It would be perfect because it's small and would look pretty clean. I'd just need a female for my meter pipe.

The one with check valves are for bottles, if you buy a common par it won't have it.
Most importantly, the female does not have a check valve (I really don't see how they could make one given the small size).
If you're not looking for compatibility with paintball/HPA equipment, standard compressor QD would be better.

You'll find females with check valves in lower pressure HPA fittings but I can see them being impractical at over 7 times the pressure.wyz2285 wrote:Most importantly, the female does not have a check valve (I really don't see how they could make one given the small size).

I was attracted to the small ones because it would look nicer and clean, but function comes first, especially when the alternative is to have your 3x fuel mix instantly vent in your face.wyz2285 wrote:The one with check valves are for bottles, if you buy a common par it won't have it.

McMaster has small 1/8 NPT check valves that I could install in the cannon and simply connect the paintball QD to that. They are small, 500psi rated check valves with a 1psi opening pressure. I may go that route or just buy a regular-ass compressor QD connector.
LOL, that right there is signature quote worthy.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Doesn't every man?Moonbogg wrote:I'd just need a female for my meter pipe.
