I started with Q-Tips, got a range of about 40-50 feet out of em, recently I started making small cones out of paper, cutting the tip off, and sticking a half tooth pick through it for weight, I got a shot of 100 feet out of that, I also used pencil erasers with needles sticking through them, they bounce around the walls, so be careful shooting indoors, I had one stick in my hand, would hate for it to get me in the eye

I will use anything I can fit in the barrell. Anything from the Q-tips to apple pieces to small nails (not recommended for indoors!)

EDIT: I just shot a few Airsoft BB's (6mm) and they work well!

Ok... Not all ammo needs to fit inside the barrel... If you are using a pen tube for the barrel just use the pen cap as the ammo. Don't smash it on the end or it wont come off and you will end up blowing off your end cap ( like i did  ) but just slip it over the end and just a little snug... This thing dented one of my drum heads at like 10 feet.

I swear, use the paper cone with the T-Pin throw it, I can easily throw it and make it stick in my wall, I wouldnt even call it throwing, its more of a light toss

I live in australia and you cant get bbs easily, so i use those little silver balls that taste of sugar. You know the ones that you put on top of cakes. You can get them at coles or any food shop. They are really cheap and usually fit well. Also peas work really well, dried work well but fly back, frozen are alright but can get water in :x so just leave them out to melt and they work brilliantly.
