Well, I find that a little small for my tastes - but then again, it's all in the perspective of the person involved.

That's what allows discussion forums to exist... a difference in opinions and tastes.
20" bore would be quite cool though
Just one problem - imagine the recoil from firing a person. Might need some sort of damping system.

I have thought about trying to fire myself...just backward, the way I designed it was to have the launcher strapped to myself pointing at the ground, and then have a piston with a lightweight but strong bar attached to it as the ammo, so that when its fire the launcher and myself fly upwards and the bar just pushes against the floor. Only problem was I cant afford the size pipe needed for it.

Other problem is that you'd probably do yourself a mischief trying it. That much force/recoil could easily break bones and pull muscles.

Thats very true, when finally get round to it I dont plan on trying it myself untill it has been thoroughly tested on inanimate objects that weigh the same as me, so that I can play with the pressures and sizes of the barrel to make it a smooth take off.

a 80mm lead slug? :D
i became a fan of lead after i crushed the wood block :P

another really good ammo for big bores is turnips, search "road 257" on youtube to find a awesome turnips cannon. it has a 3" acid proof barrel..

buckshot fits every barrel and your gun will be beastly enough to fire a huge amount of marbles/ball bearings.

hope that helped :)

Well, you could also try out a 90mm sabot round.
You could fire a 1" or 2" rod through stuff with that.

Besides that, I agree on the buckshot.
Get some sort of sabot like a rag possibly in combination with a can, and throw in any stuff you can find. :D

*Points at some object of someone*
"Do you need this anymore?"
"-Nope, why?"
"Lets say its going to learn how to fly then."
