For milling machines?
If they're what I'm thinking, you need a good vise that adjusts (by long bolts built in) forward, backwards and left or right. And bolts to "T" shaped nuts on the drill press(?)...It will work, just not as precise as a milling machine. ( Hope I'm thinking of the same parts)...
Maybe someone else is more familiar(?)
EDIT: :oops: Duh, you mean putting a rotary tool bit in the drill press(?)
Should work, if the diameter is too small to chuck, you could use bit similar to what a hole saw is screwed to with a set screw.
You'd have a heck of more torque than a dremel, and a more sturdy work table than thier drill press attachment...Unless you're polishing something then the higher speed dremel would be faster.

Rotary=Dremel...
Do you think dremel bits would work in a drill press?

Took me a minute, and I edited that. (answer in the edit,(yes)).

To add to my edit, Even as far as polishing, unless you're working on small (tiny) parts,
A (much) larger diameter wheel than a rotary tool uses works better.
Because the larger diameter at lower RPM has a faster surface speed than the dremel at high RPM's, burns up the wheel much slower and holds more polishing compound. (and will be cheaper than the rediculously prices puny bits).

Okay, thanks for your help...
I'll be going to a couple different stores to compare prices and tools.

Cool Hope you caught the " Duh" with the "oops" was directed at myself.
It's late and I actually entered "rotary cutter" in a search, thinking if I saw it I would be familiar with it (I've worked in machine shop, factory, various trades)... anyhow, got pic of milling bits back.

Good luck on your search! Good thing is most tools are so common, they can be found for bargains. (I am getting a drill press, delivered, for free soon!!!).
I would like to have some welding equipment now.
I was working in a metal work factory with welders, my own drill press, saws, grinders, belt/disc sanders etc.
But I cussed out and almost fought the lame'o boss there when they shut half the place down(unexpectedly)...no weld connects for now. I was working on a home shop, but had to move. :( D*MN economy!!!
Hope you keep us posted! 8)

for simple plastic and wood milling in a drill press - you really cant beat something like this ->

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=94276

or more commonly available ->

http://cgi.ebay.com/5-Cross-Slide-Drill ... .m20.l1116

It's up to you tho.

You will still need a milling setup i.e. lathing bit's or end mill bits.

I will one day (after college) have the sweetest pole-barn with all these tools we dream of lol. hopefully that is.

@mobile chernobyl: That's exactly what I was mentioning when I thought MountainousDew was asking about milling bits.

I plan to look into one of those when I get my new drill press.
My meager workbench area is currently a constant battle mess of Harley-Davidson parts and tools and spudding components.
I'm not sure which will win...YMBASI!!!
Hopefully I'll complete customizing the bike and reduce it to some maintenance equip. only. Then spud stuff will take over again. :twisted: 8)

Disguise it as an exhaust pipe...
And if it would be a combustion you could disguise the propane bottle as Nitrous...

I've thought of the opposite before, spudgun with onboard Harley parts ("jugs": cylinder and head, aluminum piston etc.)

I have Long Shotvance and hines pipes, chrome plated and look like giant double barrel pipes.
(When the engine is warming up it sounds like a metal horse! BOOMBOOM DIGGA BOOM BOOM BOOM... hard to explain but it's awesome and slow at first with plenty o'bass)
Too exensive for spud stuff...But there's small stuff here Or Here along the same lines for less $ hybrid project maybe.
As for the nitrous, I suppose a CO2 bike tyre filler modded to have a dummy CO2 cartridge, hose and an automotive N20 tank would fulfill some cool spudding or motorcycle purposes. 8)
