Moonbogg wrote:So your barrel is not seamless? Congrats on getting a metal barrel though. So much better. They should be able to tell you what spec it is. For instance "AS 1074" or something like that.
No, not seamless. I guess through some manufacturing process they ground down the seam. Good pointer about the spec, didn't ask about that.

What kind of epoxy did you use?
Araldite.

I have one of those computer dusters for my microscope, hopefully this wont use a lot of it up as I just bought it and they're about $30 over here (residue free, though)
when you heat araldite it goes white and becomes malleable.

True, I did forget to take in to account your recent projects.

Can I just take this joke back? More hassle than it was worth :P

I'm gonna file them down a bit anyway
Grind, surely ;)
Right you are...

Didn't grind any more because the masonry disk has had it so I got impatient and assembled the cannon.

New barrel pushed the weight up to 17kgs, which is fĂșck all when contained on a dumbbell for example, but spread out over 2.3m it's barely hip-fireable (new word) without my Steyr sling.

What do people on YouTube know anyway? :D

There's probably someone with a homemade black powder cannon out there who decides to shoulder fire it to see if he can dislocate his shoulder
