Alright. you might have seen my topic about my bb sniper that i just made, and i was interested in other ammo.
Thursto came over today and we went down the shops. we seen these fluffy pom pom balls that were small so we decided to buy them. It was $2 for a fair few..
We came home and put nails through it. I shot it out of my sniper and it was amazing.
We put another one on for stability. they are accurate for about 10 + metres, that is all i have tested it it.
This is how to make them:
Grab a bunch of your fluffy balls
Put 2 aside, and a nail/pin
Push the nail directly through the middle of one
Do the same with the other
Now its done. how easy was that! now you just have to make a bunch more
Here is a video
(the embedding wont work for some reason)
It is a pretty dodgy quality video but its better then none.
Give credit to Thusto !

I tried it... bit hard to come out looking at new ammo here though, at 140psi+ tore these apart, i suggest maybe attaching "the fluffy balls" with a glue of some kind (supa dupa gloo 8) ) to make sure thay stay intact.

yeah. they broke on me too but thats cause it was at close distance and into somethin hard. If you used it for hunting(not saying i do..) they would be good because the nail would slide through into the thing your hunting.

What size barrel would these darts be for? Would they work for a 1/2 inch barrel?

no i mean they blew apart in the barrel from the pressure spike...
these would be no good for hunting anyways, they dont cause enough damage.
i tried this in a 6mm and a 16mm barrel, same results occured.

you could use a nail with a head, maybe?
How big were the balls you used? if there to tight that can happen.
They do do damage. Shot one about 10 metres and it stuck into wood about half a cm.

i used nails with heads, the balls were packed cotton balls, i did try some epoxy in the center of the ball and it helped for about 4 shots, so that was ok, they are accurate like you said but would not do enough damage to [not aloud to talk about] in my opinion, birds maybe but not much else.

Well, i just tried it with cotton wool and a screw and it works fine. This is awesome. It reminds me of the blowgun darts the natives of the amazon use.
I also tried a wooden skewer but it failed miserably.I now know it's because it wasn't tight enough but i still cant be bothered to use skewers.
And are you sure Mr Russ?
Every time i post an embed video and i leave the uk in it doesn't work and when i replace it with "www" it works.

That is all. birds would be only thing i would be able to do that to.
