I was just screwing around today and decided to drill a golf ball and see whats
in there. It was just plastic so I shot it and it whistled. Heres a pic.
I heard somewhere that the stuff in golf balls is toxic, is that true?

Well if you ate the inside it would probabaly be bad.
But I doubt is real toxic since golfballs get broken open all the time from fatigue or mowers and that would be bad if it leached in to the ground. I always love hitting balls that have cracked or been hit by a mower, the whistle effect is pretty cool.

You should launch one out of your 50' long hybrid, though I doubt you could hear the whistle.

Maybe if I launched it straight up, I would proabbly hear the whistle on the way down lol.

The German divebomber ( Stuka) had a siren to basically scare the hell out of it's target, before it released it's payload.
This is a little like a Stuka..

DO NOT EAT THE GRAY MATTER!!!!!!11
Yes, the gray plastic inside a golfball is not good for you, just like all other plastic is not good for you. Do not eat it.
Is the whistle constant, or does it come and go as the ball spins?
I have had good luck drilling through Golf balls by setting the ball in a cap from a 2 liter or 20 oz pop bottle. Ball doesn't roll that way.

Did you drill it completely through or only to the center?

ive done this with a normal golf ball playing golf. its horribly innacurate. and the stuff in a golf ball is toxic if its one of the ones with liquid inside. otherwise its just rubber........

I very much doubt that it is explosive. That being said, "The discussion of explosive or incendary devices is against forum rules"
i have learnt

My father told me of a story a while back.
He was just a "wee lad." He said he was cutting one with a saw and the liquid exploded on him, causing him to go blind (but briefly). He has been wearing glasses ever since.
