hey I was looking around on mc masters, there are a lot of pumps that can produce extreme presures, but I think a lot of them are for hydrolics, and are posibly dependent on lubrication from the liquid. How can I tell if that is the situation or if their is a way to adapt hydrolic pumps, anyone know about extreme presure pumps

Why not just buy the real thing if you have that sort of money?

i think what you are talking about is called an "air booster" and usualy run an between 1,500 and 2 grand , that pump jack posted is a hell of a deal, iwould go with it if you can aford it.

man there is hardly anything cheap out there, I'm just window shopping for possible far future projects. I'm sure I could get a motor, if it could significantly reduce the price, any one got ideas for something cheaper, modded pressure washers (which probably will over heat), modded low volume pumps like 12volt compressors added with high torque motors (but it will probably blow the pump)
any ideas, at least sleep on it

Why not motorise a shock pump?

Shouldn't be too hard to accomplish if you geared down a big electric motor - make sure you have a cooling system sorted out though.

no luck, thats also pretty darn big I think. hmm that gives me an idea maybe I can bribe someone in the fire department to fill tanks for me , I'll consider motorizing a pump but I think I'd rather use some high pressure small diameter cylinder finding one is difficult, but I think it's better than torquing up the motor to the point where it can finally power a stirrup pump
