Is there a way to remove pvc glue?

Nope, It dissolves the pvc then when it dries the 2 surfaces are basically melted together.

Well, once the solvent dries, it becomes solid PVC. If you are trying to remove two pieces of pipe, then you're outta luck. If its just from a solid surface, you could just try filing it down.

You could salvage a little non-rated pipe - if you were so inclined. Water gun conversion maybe?

it easy, just get new pipe. its not like its made out of gold... most places will give you scrap pvc is you ask nicely.

Nope, is why I suggested you saw it up...only keep the end cap and BBQ ignitor from your gun. OTOH, you could saw off the barrel pipe and keep the short piece...is about all...but it's only about $1 worth of 1.5" pipe.

You do know that PVC cement literally welds the parts together don't you? The "cement" solvent evaporates away. There is no cement to remove.

Haha...PVC glue always gave made me wonder how it bonded the parts...I have always had the image of little workers taking mini-torches to the pipe so that it litterally "welds" the pipe together.

If you mean remove it from a fitting, put what you want removed in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then it twists off perfectly, works every time, because it softens the pvc so it can bend, twist, etc.

No this will not work if you have properly cemented (PVC primer and cement) the fittings on the pipe...cementing fittings to pipe literally melts the 2 pieces together..it is final and now essentially one piece. The most you will do with boiling it is deform everything.

The parts are cheap..don't waste your time with this.

You can remove the pipe from the fitting, but the fitting will break. I've done it loads of times and yes I know how to solvent weld properly.

Just get a screwdriver and hammer and bang the screwdriver into where the fitting meets the pipe, the fitting should break into pieces as you whack it.

Then just lightly sand the pipe and it's ready to be used again.

Doesn't having to destroy the fitting kind of, uhh defeat the purpose. You may retrieve an inch or 2 of the pipe but not without some sanding down. Seeing as that area is kind of critical to re-cementing the next fitting, I would personally rather have pristine pipe to work with.
