I am interested in hearing from people who have experience using 1 1/2 SCH10 barrels for golf balls. How do they do? Does the ball usually fit well? Does it tend to spin like crazy upon exiting? Do you need to wrap it in tissue to prevent it from rolling down the barrel?

D_Hall's
thread will answer some of your questions. As far as I know, a golf ball has not actually been shot out of a length of the stuff yet, unless D_Hall's gun is finished.
BTW,
this site has really good prices - 8 ft. for $28

Here is the topic on sch 10 aluminum pipe that was posted a while ago. D_hall bought some, and said it works very well. Good luck if you do buy some.
Edit: Ah! you beat me by seconds

I'm going ahead with the 1 1/2" SCH10. Oh, in that thread they said it isn't available threaded, but it is. This should be a nice little demon I got going.

that must be what i have for my barrel, becuase i have a pvc barrel thats not sdr21, but really thin. it fits golf balls exactly, no room at all, but they wont get stuck. and you dont need to reinforce it, it stays straight on its own, id recommend it for your barrel

Covey, I believe he is talking about 1.5" sch 10 stainless or aluminum for a barrel, not thin-walled PVC. I wouldn't touch that stuff with a 10' pole as a barrel, much less one for a hybrid.

Yes it will be 6061-T6 aluminum. The cannon will be operating at 3x, possibly 4x if the benefit is there performance wise.
