I would think the seal and spring will fail before the housing cracked.

70psi or thereabouts. Thee is a topic around discussing it, which I'm just looking for.

If I remember right, it's Don Gippeto that revealed that information.
I think this is the original source:

If you are worried about the cracking pressure, check into presta valves. cracking pressure of like 1 psi. I just got into messing with them and they are badass.

I'm asking myself what shraders you are talking about!?
I use shrader valves all the time with pressures past 150 psi and never had a failure.
Did I miss something?

We're talking about how much pressure(psi) before the air pressure overcomes the spring pressure to allow air through the valve... NOT, how much pressure before they crack/break/selfdestruct....
normally cracking pressure is used to describe/quantify the pressure required to force air past a oneway/check valve....

Oh ok.
I was a little confused by jrrdw's comment.

Yep, I've also found the average cracking pressure to be 70 psi, give or take a few. If you want no cracking pressure then get the cores with an external spring and cut it off. You will need backpressure for it to reseat though.
