What is the recommended pipe or tube thickness to hold threads safely

Entirely depends on the material in question, the pipe diameter, as well as the coarseness of the threads and the desired safety factor.

Depends on the material and what forces you'll be subjecting it to I suppose... is this to thread a barrel or chamber into your QEV ;)

Depends on what pressure you want it to hold, and the diameter. Larger diameters and pressures require thicker walls.

As stated...too many variables come into play.

Get yourself a copy of Machinery's Handbook...it has the relevant engineering formula's and shows how to apply them to derive your answer.
