I was thinking it would be kind of cool to get a round jelly jar, (where i work at whole foods we have such a variety of them it would be easy to find one that fits the 2" barrel. Finish or dump the jelly, load it up with flour/baby powder or some other cool stuff. Then load it up, at the speed it travels it will most likey completely smash to bits sending a monster cloud of powder or whatever outward. [Sentence Removed] Imo im just really bored sitting here.
Unlocked. Continue as if it never happened. -Gort

...Demon, you wouldn't get the cloud of dust then.
Personaly, I'd avoid using a glass jar, because I don't like the idea of contaminating my range with glass shards.
I'm a bit short on alternatives, but possibly a cardboard tube - like a toilet paper roll - with some home-made endcaps could be used.

hmmm yea but you would have to put some form of extra weight inside with the powder, or it wouldnt have the ability to fly straight and smash on impact.

after reading this post I tried to make one, I have 2'' barrel and I have these tea cups that I cut at the top line and they fit perfectly, I cut them, stuffed one w/ poweder, and taped the other one on top, then loaded it and fired, It was awsome, not a BIG cloud, but cool looking, a lot of powder on the tree still.

hmmmm i might try it myself, did it make a cool looking cloud atleast or just mark up the tree? Still thinking of glass alternatives for this though seeing as how dangerous it is to shoot glass. At impact it can shatter all over...

Sounds cool, but as other people said, I wouldn't want shattered glass everywhere though. I'm gonna try filling a toilet paper tube and sealing off both ends and shooting it into a tree or a wall, making an awesome explosion. Maybe I'll even through in some cap gun caps for a little effect. Yes...yessssss....YESSSSSS!
I'm done.

Well, now that it's been bumped, I might as well have state an idea I had:
Fill said cardboard tube with flour... and rocks. This adds weight, so that it will still preform well as far as exterior balistics are concerned, but does not concern us with glass fragment contamination. (one could probably use (<i>dry</i>) sand instead.)

Instead of using glass use like styrafoam or paper cup filled with powder and capped with the bottom of another cup.

Great topic as this brings up my newest ammo idea as well. I've made a couple of test designs for this very issue using sheetrock mud. I simply form it like you would any liquid and let dry. It took about two days for a 2" by 2" shot to form. THis makes a very impressive cloud once it shatters.

I just rake it up after. I've shot jelly jars out of a 3" barrel before. I will try this. you know what's sweet, shoot a jelly jar for distance, but with the lid off. you know the noise any glass container makes when you blow across the top? Imagine that times 12. It sounds really awesome.
I will do It tomorrow 'cause THE SWAT GUN IS FIXED!!!!!
(I'm so happy because It's been two and a half weeks since I've shot anything through anything, or anything of decent weight or caliber

Yeah go swat gun!!
Hey what's pretty fun is shoving a piece of spud down the barrel, dropping some acorns (my yard is full of them) down there and putting another piece of potato in there. It's like a shotgun shelll

one thing is to get a whole bunch of throwies (
