I am looking for somebody who has cut off half of their blowgun for extra flow like this:

I need to know if I can tap 1/4" threads in it, or any size threads. Thanks.

Why do you think that you can't tap it? You can thread just about anything..

Visit a hardware store and let them know you want a drill and tap for 1/8th inch pipe. That style blowgun was originally tapped for a 1/8th inch pipe thread tip. Use the drill bit to make the hole the right size for the tap and tap it.
A 1/4 inch tap is too big and is close to the outside diameter of the blowgun. Don't drill or tap too deep.
You can look up the drill size on this chart for several common tap sizes.

Well I guess I can use 1/8" threads, 1/4" would be better, and it looked wide enough for 1/4" but I guess not. Thanks...

if you are going to use 1/8'' threads.... why even bother cutting it?
remove all the insides, and then drill through the "outlet" hole to make more room for air flow.... then simply resemble and use the 1/8'' threads that are already there.
Gun freak, you also are plenty skilled enough to simply cast a 1/4'' steel pipe coupler onto the blowgun...
use some epoxy putty even.... just make a nice thick casting.... heck you could even cast a grip while your at it...

hah!! That's my gun!! I was like, hmmmm i recognize that tablecloth!! And cutting the bottom off a blowgun doesn't increase the flow, however, drilling out some of the inside does.

Yeah maverick lol it was the first example I could find. This blowgun will be used for a replica funcional m203 and I need to cut most of the bottom off to make it look more realistic. This rules out the casting idea too. I could use 1/8" threads but I wasn't sure on what size I could tap after I cut off half of the blowgun. That is what this thread is about...

oh okay, i understand now.
i assume this to bbmg that you are working on... would that be correct/
try to tap it with 1/8'' if that fails you can always use a casting like i said.... im sure you could manage a casting that looks like a pistol grip.. then just have your air/c02 input in the bottom of the cast handle.
maybe a diagram of your design idea?
EDIT: i thought a M203 was a rifle, i now understand it to be a grenade launcher... is this going to b a piston cannon?

Its a coaxial piston valve, 1.25" chamber, .5" barrel that fires airsoft shells. The pilot is the blowgun which will be modded to be a three way valve filling from the bottom port, which I want to cut off and tap new threads to make it shorter and more appealing like the real M203.
