What do you mean by "electronic valves" like transitors or relays? Or do you mean a solenoid operated diaphram valve aka sprinkler valve?

I am guessing he is saying solenoid valves when he says electronic. If they are solenoid valves they are ok, they really dont have much a flow rate or they dont dump a lot of air when opening at once. You really cant mod solenoids that are not sprinkler valves. How much are they???

If you let us know what make and model the valves you mention are, I'm sure someone will tell you how to modify them in order to optimise performance for spudguns. There are plenty of online tutorials on the subject too.

I doubt they will open quicker than you can flip a ball valve open with your hand, so not much good for single shot applications.

You could however find a way to use it in a manner similar tothis concept.
