I have been trying to come up with a good piston desighn for awile. I got the idea for the piston from a post on the forum but i don't remember what post... I plan to use the black rubber back as a bumper. But I am thinking i might have to increase the angle on the piece of black rubber and grind down the metal washer against the black piece of rubber. Any comments on how i could inprove the piston would be greatly apreciated.

that should work mate well done.

the only problem i see with it is the sealing face,
it may and more than likely will blow off after a decent pressure shot, i suggest maybe a decent washer to hold it there.

peace

Hmm, yes good. Very nice, it should work fine, though I can't help but to think that the black rubber might flip inside out. Like chaos said, just get one secure washer and bolt for it.

Will it seal in the cylinder? You would get more performance if it had some better sealing, like where people usually put o-rings. I like your piston anyways, very simple, good use of materials.

the back part was lathed out of a solid piece of rubber and its NOT coming out of the bolt. I have no doubt that it will seal the chamber. As it is, im thinking it well seal it to well and wont let air past very well to fill the chamber. Pretty much everything on the piston is battle worthy exept the hex nuts. I need to secure them better.

The washer "supporting" the lathed rubber plug should go.It has no function and obstructs the one way function wich depends on the edge flexing inward.
THe sealing surface, as said before, will blow off the bolt when enough ( is there such a thing?) pressure is applied.
I suggest you use the washer you DON"T need in the back to solve that problem.
Other than that, this thing is a beauty!

Basicly..yes, but don't put the thing in a nutshell...nutshells are notoriously bad at handling pressure..

Yah i finaly got a computer working properly........ I have used the launcher hundreds of times over the months and it was worked perfectly. At first I didn't plan on using the back washer but after i lathed the rubber back piece it was a little softer than what i wanted so i put the washer on. It leaves just anough rubber unsupported to let air pass by. And yes i did re secure the sealing face with a washer.
