hey i made my first pneumatic rifle it shoots paintballs and also stuff like grapes, olives and carrots sometimes. Anyways, i tried modding a sprinkler valve, but got frustrated so i just slapped on a temporary ball valve. At 80 psi, the paintballs usually go about 200 ft. today i gave the sprinkler valve another shot. At only 40 psi the paintball breaks and leaves the barrel in the form of spray paint. I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else.

It's happened in some of my guns.
Either get better paint or run at lower pressures.

Yeah it happens to me at all types of pressures. I tried sanding the end of the barrel so its smooth, I also don't shoot soft paintballs or leave the paintball where the breech is, I push it forward a bit because it could catch on the breech and explode.
guess how to get really cheap paintballs. go to your local pb shop and ask if they have any bags with broken paint inside. if so they will give you the whole bag for less than 5 $ thats what i do and it really helps me keep cost down, o and about the post use light and check your barrel for shavings or chips of pipe stuck inside

Lube the barrel
Bit of dish washing liquid did the job for me.
