Use one match. Lots of foil. Make the exhaust hole properly.
I tried, and I know that by igniting them, the gases produced from the burning is channelled to the exhaus hole where is propels the rockt forward. I did ths again with the rocket on the floor and it worked. my only problem is how to make it fly.
ok heres a plan take a book put something uner it so its at a 43.56 degree angle. here comes the tricky part (sarcastic) put the roket on the tilted book so match head is hanging off. next light it.

...how can you possibly get matchstick rockets wrong?
Matchstick. Foil. Something to light it with.
Anyway they don't fly, they just go whoosh and hop vaguely in the direction you pointed it.

silly n0oberz, i know how to make a real matchstick rocket.
take a large paperclip, and bend it sothe center part is at a 45º angle, then make the nozzle with a pin or something. set it up, and declar war on an anthill.

There are rules, and then there are hundred dollar bills.
apparently, I make matchstick "bombs" more than these rockets.Could low quality matches be the problem?
