Here in New Mexico its 0.08 for adults, and 0.01 for minors, which sucks but at least for me I can drive well (actually better then when I'm sober) even when I'm well over the limit. Last night though I had to drive home after having way to much to "smoke", and that wasn't exactly fun.

May not be the greatest thing to be proud of there duelers, but damn you got lucky man, I congratulate you. Maybe you should try your hand at poker since your pretty lucky.

I was 11 when my parents were t-boned by a drunk driver. Both died. I'm 40 now. That's 29 years of not having any parents. That was 7 years of adolescent confusion that I somehow made it through. My older sister was given away by a family friend at her wedding. My daughter only has one set of grandparents. What a great day it was when she was old enough, 4 yrs. old, to ask where my mommy was. How do you explain that your mommy was killed by a drunk driver to a 4 yr old? My sister and I were split up and sent to relatives in separate states. I was lucky to see my sister once a year. Father and son days never existed in my world. Assuming my parents were still alive it would've been their 41st wedding anniversary, they never made it to their 12th. Losing your parents to someone's selfish act really sucks ass. Just remember that when you are out drinking and driving and accidentally have a collision there is always a chance that you might know the person you just hit and killed.

Nice to see your a fairly callous teenager who brags about escaping a DUI. :x

Last Saturday I was in the suburbs and some Asian lady in a people mover was in front of me, she indicated left and started to pull over, I went to pass her as there was no on-coming traffic and it's perfectly legal.

She then decides to indicate and turn right, while i'm passing her. I swerve and break (only doing about 40km/h) and make a nice long dent on the side of her car.

She doesn't speak English, i'm yelling at her for being an idiot, her husband rings the fuzz (no need, no one was hurt).

Fuzz turns up, says its her fault, they seperate us, I give my details to one cop and she gives hers to the other. The cops meet up again, two seconds later it's my fault. Turns out the husband was saying he saw the whole thing, which he didn't as he took awhile to run out of his house which has no view.

Seeing as he spoke English and she didn't, the cops had to listen to his BS story. She didn't even speak a drop of English and had no clue about the road rules.

The cops say because my headlight glass is on the otherside of the road (no shit, I was passing her) it's my fault and the fact that she indicated left first is just going of what I say, as there were no witnesses.

And the fact they see no logic in her indicating left then right, I said the glass is circumstational as her car could've held it in as the cars held together before seperating once we stopped. And that I wanted a safe distance between me and her when passing her and there was no on coming traffic so I went into the middle of the road(centreline)

They didn't believe me, I have a $1250 excess to pay and a $150 over-taking fine.

She doesn't know the road rules, and admitted at the start she indictaed left before right and why would I try and over-take a car indicating right? Somehow I ended up with the blame from the cops, but the insurance company is siding with me so far.

Remember in NZ we drive on the left hand side of the road

I've been down there Crowley, well actually to Australia. For me, driving on the left side of the road was a piece of cake. However, driving on the right-hand side of the car was much more disorienting. But the real dangerous thing is when turning left or right onto a different road and not looking the right way before turning out...about got clipped a couple of times because of that. Lots of American pedistrians and motorists are killed down there because of that very reason.

The limit isn't 0.00% anywhere in Australia I dont think, but if you get caught drink driving too many times they can impose a 0.00% limit on you so you cant have any alcohol on your breath, have you got done before RNA? (I lost my lic for 12 months 18 months ago for excess 0.2 and 'creating excess smoke' or somethin )

The reason I think you got away with it RNA is cos in some places in Australia they use this equation where they divide the number of drinks you've had with how long ago you claim to have had them or something which then relates back to your breathalyser reading, so If you say you only had a shot of wild turkey like 60 seconds before you got pulled over, then you can get away with DUI cos they think it's just the alcohol residue still in your mouth giving the higher reading If you know what I mean, it's a loophole that they had on 'A Current Affair' a few months ago.

That sucks...maybe you should do some driveby spudgun testing on her house...If you smash up the ceramic off spark plugs and flick them at any untinted window it completely shatters with no sound (Ive tested it on glass and it definately works) maybe if you shot a pile of them it would spread out at take out all her windows:lol: j/k

I'm definitely appealing the fine, and I think I have a good chance, so does my insurance company. I have some other facts to help.

Hope you win the case, and I was only about 3 blocks from my house which I think had a big factor in it because he saw were I lived on my licence and new I wasn't far.So all is good!

You'll get that case easily,if she can't speak english what hope does she have of understanding English Road signs?Like No Through Lane or Left Lane Must Turn Left etc etc...See what happens.

Well theres your problem :D

And this is really funny to me because im sure you have all heard the sterotype that asians cant drive.

I tried to find a youtube clip of familyguy about a asian driving with turn signal, and crashes, it was soo funny and would definitely apply here.

But i know you will be fine, i mean come on its a asian person, they cant drive (not to offend any one here :) )

Man did i get a laugh out of that one.

My dad actually used to teach driver's ed. a few years ago, and he said that asians were the worst drivers he had ever had, and that people from India were a close second. (not to be racist or anything).
