I'd choose Home depot, not just because of all the plumbing parts but all the lawn equipment, imagine chasing zombies on a riding lawn mower wile duel wielding chainsaws and nail guns  .
Once people start building spud guns they have two career options, they can be a weapons designer or a plumber. Hard choice isn't it.

A scuba shop! Lots of high pressure gas... Or maybe Gippeto's... That 3000 psi. Co-Ax should put a dent in a zombie invasion... Or maybe my house... The fumes of spilt primer would kill any zombie!! :D
Yeah, we wouldn't want to anger the bees, now would we??

School. - Lots of materials to use, lots of machines to use. Good high point and ground defence.

I'd be in the midst of the zombie hordes as one of their own in no time, unless they'd be willing to oblige me with 24 hours for the epoxy to cure  :D

Hidden away in an underground nuclear bunker ofcourse!
But since I havent got one yet, there are other options.

In terms of spudgunning, any hardware store wil do, but I think that staying at a technical university would be even more awesome, they've got CNC lathes down there and wouldnt it be cool to use them to machine the most awesome spudguns ever "for the existence of mankind"?

But in terms of food, I'd rather stay at the shopping mall!
You cant live a few years off anything theyve got at the hardware store (well, theyve got a bunch of candy and a vending machine)
Till the day I'm dieing, I'll keep them spuddies flying, 'cause I can!

My house, I have enough of a stock pile of materials here I could build something, or failing that, lots of very pointy things.

I'd have to finish my current project a lot quicker than planned though - because although obviously a proper firearm would be better, a semi-auto 500 ft-lb spudgun could still put up a decent showing.

Or perhaps I'd scrap that idea and build a flamethrower... or maybe, a combined spudgun/flamethrower combo!

Zombies are slow and stupid so being behind any decent, even medieval defense should be adequate...just let them wonder past the castle and over the cliff...or into freeway traffic...

Probably A hydrogen fuel cell massive tow truck to drive around, and run over zombies. Realistically... The roof of my school, the janitors have ALOT of parts, and it would be easy to stay safe, also the cafeteria has atleast 1 week of frozen food for a few hundred kids, so thats enough for me for a while.

Probably a large metal fabrication shop/factory, preferably one with a converted sub-engine air compressor (for a golfball vortex mounted on roof).

Perhaps a little...

The plan is to build it as a single shot first.
At that point, it won't externally appear very different to HEAL, but it's internals are going to be modified for better flow and greater efficiency, as well as having a higher working pressure - so as you'd expect, muzzle energy will improve, I'm expecting 500+ ft-lbs with some projectiles.

Later on, after it's all set up as a single shot I'll retrofit the 6 shot rotary loader. I could have used one of my shell loading designs, but the rotary loader can be made with less dead space, and will be less likely to jam or malfunction, always a good thing.

It will probably also function as a full-auto, but that's a completely different kettle of fish.
