ok, singularity its INFRARED, not inferred, anyways I've never heard of these filters and I know that most CCDs will pick up infrared anyways. Just use infrared LEDs but unfortunately they wont go far, but look on some websites like MPJA and look for clusters of IR LEDs

Kind of a late response, but when I paint someones xbox, the jewel usually gets sanded down to be repainted. Sanding it leaves tiny scratches, just like in this case. To fix it, Toothpaste. Squeeze some onto a regular piece of paper, and smear it in. Then wash it off eventually. Brasso works too.
But then again, the lens in a camera is glass, so it might not work the same.

yeah just stuff works great to fix scratchs, but i doubt the tooth paste will work here cause it is not transperant.
Also bg micro has a 72 IR led array for 39 bucks i think.
And i think you should post a pic of what your scratched lenses assembly looks like, cause i have this feelin that you should just be able to remove the lense and the camera should still work, and if its to scratched up to see with, then who cares if you break it.

yea your right i don't need the lens, i wasn't really going to post it but you brought it up anyway. i turns out it wasn't focusing because i forgot to put the third lens back in. the reason for that is because i didn't know there was a third lens, it had fallen on the ground. when i initially took apart the lens assembly it pretty much exploded and sent lots of tiny pieces everywhere, i didn't find the third lens until i went and cleaned my room. any way the system is working now, its pretty decent actually. id post pictures but i don't have a working digital camera at the moment.
