I'm in pain!!!

I'm scared fur'real.. I don't want to tell my parents.. Cause they won't believe me.. I am 15 going on 16 soon.. But still...They know I have a thing for fire and they will think I was messing around.. But at the same time I don't wanna.. die.. get merca.. flesh eating bacteria.. And when I go to the emergency room, which I know my mom will make me go.. It will be hard explaining it to the doctors.. but still.. I think I will tell her later.. Thats 5 hours in the E.R.

He should certainly seek medical attention, but it would be pretty embarrasing to have to be treated around your "area".

A cut is a whole different type of wound than a burn. Butters and salves (Neosporin) do not help a burn and in many cases hinder the healing process. Here read for yourself...

I got a flash burn straight in the face, yes playing with chemicals (sodium peroxide and red phosphorus) that I shouldn't have been. Singed my hairline and eye brows but only first and some second degree burns. However, my head swoll up like a melon after 1 day and was in intensive care for a week. Isolated care after that to prevent infection. Out of school 1 month total.

They used twice a day saline soaks on the burns and wrapped up like a mummy for the first 3 or 4 days. So no greasy stuff, tell your mom, get to a doc....

Yah.. E.R. is gonna suck alot..

2 hours in waiting room
1-hour sign in
1 more hour wait
2 hours in "the white bed"
30 minute debriefing
= No sleep

Once upon a time at school, I misjudged where I was standing, and jumped up as hard as I could into a concrete and steel doorframe which was about 6" above my head. I played with the idea of crafting an elaborate lie about what had happened since there were no witnesses, but decided that I might as well just tell the truth. Since they'd already strapped me to a stretcher before I got into gear thinking about my story, a lot of interesting rumours had cropped up by the time I got back, sporting 6 stitches and slightly off balance. I got teased about it for a few days, but it's been completely forgotten now.

The lessons in that rant are:
1) You'll get teased at the time, but most people can only remember back to last Thursday, and it isn't worth risking serious problems over
2) I should be doing my Math homework

You will be classed higher at the ER than a person with the flu, and they will see you faster than you might think. Don't worry about the suck-factor, put on some shorts and a tee shirt. Take some socks so your feet don't get cold. Goooooooo already....

I was 16 when I had my burn accident so I feel you man. Just tell everyone the truth, just like you told us here. It won't be as hard as you think and they will need to know the stuff involved (acetone) to properly treat you. You're not gonna die but you better get movin' partner. The earlier they help you the less chance you'll have of bad scars.

Your story sounds a lot like mine, people were wondering about the trail of blood on the floor where I had walked from the empty corridor to the office.

I concur with starman, get yourself to the hospital Counterstriker.

Ughhhhhhhh, nasty,nasty,horrible experience with burns. Last year in february I went to the beach with my friend, I put on some of that cheap a** spray sunscreen that needs to be reapplied a lot, but the problem is I used like one spray for 4 hours in the sun with no shirt on. When I got back to my house, I felt like I had little burn. I woke up the next morning in intense pain, and my mom didn't believe me about my "horrible sunburn" she lifted up my shirt and my back was covered in 1 inch blisters. My arms started peeling about a day later, and the blisters oozed puss. Kept me out of school for a whole week. I haven't gone to the beach without a shirt on on since lol.

I think if your parents are decent at all they'll care more about the burns than the fact that you screwed up.
I assume you don't want to show us any pictures of the burns, so you'll have to judge for yourself how bad it is or tell your parents. Choose wisely.

anyway...
I don't have many burns stories, just once when I blistered about 1/2 the bottom of my feet from ash in a bonfire, and recently I stepped on a soldering iron. Burns don't bother me now much since I started working with a forge and I get minor burns all the time. About the worst I've had from that was removing the skin from the top of my big toe with some redish-orange steel. Coming into contact with metal at that temp is an interesting sensation

yeah it first just feels like "what" then cold for a second and ouch..
i am really bothered by burns. i remember when i was like 5years i put my hand on an HOT exhaust and my whole arm was destroyed for a while (yeah all my accidents have been done by engines)

For me is feels a bit like a jet of air touching the affected area, then after .5-1 sec later it starts to hurt

. Not a prolonged stinging feeling like a blister, but more of a really nasty scrape. Probably due to the fried nerve endings.

how did it get to your toe? were you wearing sandals? reminds me of the time i was replacing the water chamber on a hot iron, mom said not to grab the metal to push it in...well...i did(i was 7) surprisingly it hurt, but i had no adverse effects, didn't even lose my fingerprints

Not necessarily. Some ERs are really bad about placement and priorities.

When I broke my collar bone, I had the damn bone pushing the skin out and I still was told to wait my turn because the women in front of me wanted her child's records and refused to go to the correct place. Fortunately someone figured out what was going on and came and helped me. Still, my ER sucks and the hospital is known as St. Victims so thats probably the problem.

Still, this is pretty damn serious, I would say at the very least tell your parents (unless you already did and I missed that part), and see what they think, chances are you could just go to a regular old doctor to take a look at it and not fool around in the ER, and let the doctor decide what to do. And I ain't one to recommend a trip to the hospital or telling parents of injuries unless maintaining conciseness is a serious issue.

If this happened to me though, I'd just take care of it and try and keep quite, but thats because I'm quite familiar with the "ghetto" branch of medicine. I keep a bottle of super glue, gauze, hydrogen peroxide, and duct tape in a little bag and I have yet to encounter an injury I can't take care of (puncture wounds, burns, gashes, etc).

Sucks this happened man, I know what a b*tch this can be, I hope you get better and just remember this will pass eventually.
