Ok, so i added some 8" rubber tires to the back, they are from the scooter i took the motor from. It now goes faster(bigger wheels, and now they are rubber not solid plastic) and now it is a LOT quieter. I will add a small trailer on the back, so i can move some boxes to my other house(just down the street).

ANOTHER upgrade, i got rid of the ugly rubbermaid tub on the back and just built a shelf and strapped it down. Oh, and in the pic I forgot to replace the screw in the silver board by the motor. I will get some better pics tommorow when i go to the desert area at floyd lamb park.

Looks good. at first i thought that was foam padding wrapped around the frame but its just a thick, tempered metal.

job well done!

Only thing that would make it better would be if you threw a spudgun on the side of it.

What a lovely funmobile.
Though you shoud look into MOAR power!

And add a braking system.
Having no brakes is not very safe.

At those speeds I reckon your foot makes for a good brake...the original shoe brake!

Buuut if you're going downhill or something, you can always wire a double-pole switch so it applies power in one direction and shorts the motor (while disconnecting power) in the other (or add a lamp and have a brake light!).

Or use a mechanical brake of some kind if you're feeling real fancy.

Im thinking of using a brake like the ones on a normal push scooter, so i can just push down on it to stop, and i am going out for a good offroad ride i less than an hour.

When i went offroading on it 2day, i snapped teh rear axle, dislocated the roll cage, broke some wood, and the battery is now leaking acid. I have fixed everything except the battery. the battery still needs some epoxy, sinse its just a small hole. But until then, i fixed the leak temporarily. I am going to get the 2 batteries in a few days though.

Wow ! You really need to beef up your welds, get a stronger rear axle, and make sure the epoxy is designed for acid...

What happened ?
