He slices through pvc like butter with that string! I have heard one person say you could cut pvc with nylon string but I didn't beleive them or think it would be that easy.[/url]

This has actually been posted before, but without the video.

EDIT: Video, not string! God, I'm so tired tonight. I'm jumbling up all sorts of unrelated words.

Holy s**t... This will make it so much easier on me when I'm trying to cut quickly.

Actually, it is better to use cotton string, it doesn't heat the pvc as much, so there are less fumes.

yeah really I hate when its like 12 at night and my dad comes down in the garage from the loud sawing of pvc for like 10 minutes. This will be quicker and quieter at night.

C'mon, no one else has a cut-off saw bolted to the end of their pipe rack?

I have one but I have to pull it outta the garage and plug it in any time I want to use it so usually it's not worth it. Lol BC I don't even have a pipe rack either. My pipe rack consists of a few small left over sections of pvc leaning against the refrigerator in my garage.

At least your garage fridge is large enough to lean pipe against. Mine is so small :(

Well he may cut it with string, but the cut is not really even. But its still a cut, but not a prime cut (trying to make a joke, i.e. prime rib)

Doesn't seem very quick, I just use a normal saw for wood and it does the trick in about the same amount of time, if not faster and it requires less energy by the looks.

my dad told me about this. piano wire with small metal rings as handles make a great device to cut pvc with. if you haven't tried it yet you should its much more efficient and neater than a hacksaw.
