License plate light

I need to come up with a way to light my license plate. It is just a rectangular tube bumper about as all as the license plate is. All of the lights I found at auto stores would look really stupid as they stick out 2 inches. As of now I can't take it on the street at night :S. Anyone have any ideas?

umm, a "grain of wheat" setup of small high intensity LED lights. you can get them at edmund scientifics. this should give you something small enough.....

Or just replace the bulb?
Surely your car already has a license plate light, if for some reason the setup is missing then I am sure a visit to the junkyard would prove worthwhile.

Has anyone tried using LEDs as projectiles..? My dad bought dozens of lighters with LEDs in them. I figured out that I can remove the whole part with batteries.I added a bolt to make it heavier and wrapped them (the LED with batteries thing and the bolt) in transparent tape. If enough tape is added it is reusable. It looks great when fired at night

And you can find easily your projectiles fired for maximum range

I agree, just have a little hood/reflector over top. Should do the trick.
