Kenwood Stereo Issues

I'm a firm believer in Kenwood and would like to get this issue sorted out without going to a specialist. To me, you guys are my specialists

My problem is that if I adjust the volume knob slightly, or I bump my desk it seems to deafen the sound by half, then I have to carefully fiddle with the volume knob until all the volume comes back. Some times it just effects one side of my headphones, sometimes both.

And it's not my computer, headphone or anything else. It's been happening for about 1year.

Oh yeah I got the whole Kenwood setup in the in-organics (where you dump you trash on the side of the road each year). When I found it outside this guys house, he said he dumped it coz he already had a good setup, and it was working when I took it home. The problem occured probably 1year after.

Anyone got any ideas, apart from seeing a dealer?

Sounds like there is a faulty connection in there, since you got it used you cant void the warranty so why not take it apart and see what you can see? If its just a simple loose solder, you can just re solder it and be done.

My money is on a bad connection as well.
I wish I could be of more help, but my Kenwood is from the 70's

Okay bad connection sounds like the problem. I was hoping for an option without taking it apart, otherwise I woudl've done so by now but it really pisses me off.

Aint that the truth. I didn't realize it was at 1/8 volume, and made the mistake of plugging in a 6" speaker. Bye-bye speaker.

Stereo setup, ignore the cheerleader poster, I got it signed when I was a tender age of 14 and felt very cool at the time...

I have a CD player that acts up on occasion, but my old PC was the real culprit. The screen would suddenly blink out, but if you hit it in just the right way, it sprang back on again... until one occasion I took it upon myself to hit it with a hammer instead of my hand.

oh dear, and in just seven months... I need so spend more time away from my PC and on my workbench - though considering the fact that they're only 2 metres apart, the forum does provide a good way to while away the hours while the epoxy's curing

My laptop and workbench seem to fit on the same surface at home, unless I need to do some heavy work... then I'll go outside.
