So I'm finally going to get around to workign on my ghillie suit for paintball. I've got some old camo pants I'm going to use for the bottom, and a camo lon-sleeve t-shirt I'm going to use for the top.

The netting I'll use is some plastice mesh stuff my dad got from his company. I asked him if they had anything, he brings me enough to cover a basketball court and asks if it's going to be enough. Maybe I'll make extras and sell them...

Anyway. I've already got some burlap dyed in various shades of green and brown, going to pull the strands and tie them on to the netting. Netting will most likely be attached to the clothes with fishing line and superglue. I'm thinking of sewing on some small, black two sided velcro strips I could use to attach fresh vines and such to the thing. I'm also going to put extra netting in a few places so it hangs off some and break up my shape better.

I'm going to use the netting to custom-make a hood I can attach to my paintball mask. It'll have a flap type thing in the front I can fold down over the visor to help hide, but still see out. I'm also going to make a ghillie rag to cover my gun, though I'll have to devise something to keep it from interfering with the action of the bolt.

I think I've got everything covered, but does anyone have any suggestions? I'll post pics as I make progress, I'm expecting to at least have netting sewn on by late tomorrow.

All I can say is good luck. These things take a lot of patience to make. It does seem like everything is covered, though.

Working on and off, it took me around 10 to 12 hours to make one, and that was a moderate one.

WEll it mentioned on there that Wal-Mart has burlap already camo dyed, I'll definitely have to check that out. Though I got my burlap cheap. The lady at the fabric store said I could have it cheap since that roll wasn't made very high quality. She gave me an odd look when I told her I was just gonna tear it apart anyway.

And I'm going to have a bit of an easier time with the mask than that link shows. Mine has a visor over the lens, so I have less work to do with making it not-so-shiny.

i would sugest dental floss and shoe goo rather than fishing line and super glue.also recomend you water proof it when as all that burlap gets wet or damp iy can get very heavy. there might be some useful tips here.

I've heard of using the shoe glue. I just have fishing line and superglue handy at my house. I was planning on waterproofing it, though I'm not sure if I'll bother fireproofing it. It's not going to be taken anywhere that it might catch a spark.

Why don't you just buy one? They're pretty cheap.

The only decent ones I've seen are at least $100. Plus I want to make sure it does everythign I want it to do. I'm going to make sure I still have access to my pockets, build in a couple things, replace some areas with mosquito netting for ventilation. I want it personalized.
