LT1 Timing

Ok this may come across as seemingly stupid but here it goes, I have a 95 LT1 and I am replacing the heads and camshaft this summer. My question is how do I time it? I am ripping the whole front off the engine and I am hoping the computor will adjust timing etc? Any help would be most appreciated. And as a last question, does anyone know a good service manual book for a 1995 Camaro?
Thanks

haynes or chiltons probably has a decent manual. it/they should answer your timing question in more detail than can be answered here.

Seconded. Haynes usually has an "Engine Rebuild" section which can help you with most of this. Also, the Chiltons manual is supposedly good as well.

As a mechanic of 26 years Chilton is by far the better service manaul! When you replace/reinstall the timeing chain and "gears" the cam gear timeing mark needs to be at the bottom center, and the crankshaft timeing mark needs to be at the top center. It takes some playing around with, you can get it.

Best advice, Listen to Jrrdw.Watch the timing ticks.
Had to take the timing chain off my mom's neon to get to the water pump(worthless compacts).
Talk about a pain in the rear.
Once again why I am grateful to have grown up fixing boats.I hate cars...
