My family is going on a trip to a lake this summer, and I asked my parents if I could bring a cannon along with me, so me and my cousins could have a little fun, but my parents said that I couldn't because of the noise that my cannons make. So I decided to make a launcher that was virtually silent: a slingshot. I made the slingshot "bands" out of surgical tubing (15 feet of it), and I had my mother sew the "pouch" out of some nylon fabric. Primary ammo is going to be tennis balls and water balloons, but I'll probably end up launching everything that will fit in the pouch.

It is pretty late at night, but I will have some distance/damage shots tomorrow morning.

Very cool, those are like to two man water balloon launchers you should get respectable range with that piece of artillary :) , may I ask, where did you get that tubing from?

I bought the tubing from Lowes, it was $1.40 per foot, but I have seen it at Home Depot for around 15 dollars for ten feet.

At both of the stores it was with the other types of tubing (the stuff you have to buy by the foot), like the vinyl tubing, rubber tubing, and the air hose.

ahh, thanks, I was trying to build on today out of giant rubber bands but the sucked, so ill try this since it has two sections of rubber holding the pouch it must be more stable, are you planning on using this with two friends or family? Or are you going to build a stand to hold it for you?

I was planning on either having two people hold it, or have the ends fastened to trees or something of that sort.

Alright, well I don't have any pictures from shooting this thing, but it can shoot well over 100 yards, which was my only expectation. From one corner of my yard to the diagonal corner, it is about 100 yards, and this thing shot way past that, I actually couldn't even find one of the tennis balls I launched.
