Earth Hour. Can you switch off the lights for just one hour??

2007 --- 2100 corporations, 2.2 Million individuals turned off the lights for just one hour at 8pm local time and saved 10.2% Energy. That was only in North America, This year its going Global. Help WWF, Help Yourself, its today.... at 8 pm Local time.

Can you Switch off (everything) for one hour?

hey I saw this on my clan forums someone posted this and I thought I should spread the word and do something for the environment. I hope everyone does it. Theres a lot more info on the website, and its worldwide so you ausies can do it to.
Thanks

Yeah lol aussies are like what, 15 hours ahead? I know they are way ahead of me, with Pacific Standard Time. I was talking to this guy on xfire at 11:30, and there it was like 6pm the NEXT day. But uhh, I'll try to get my family to do it.

EDIT: LOL, we have this running joke like, "How is the weather tomorrow?" friend "Rainy, not so good." me "Oh, darn it was rainy today too." friend "You mean yesterday?" me "Whatever"

Does the time matter? I'd prefer to do it at 2 am.

Yeah, it really does defeat the purpose. Who has stuff on at 2am anyways? I will be at a party tonight, so my lights will be off. Can't speak for the host though.

If I shut down my servers, I'd have a LOT of unhappy customers... Lights, on the other hand, can-do. :)

They're pushing this here too, but we run on hydro power so it wouldn't pollute very much anyways. Meh I say. Meh.

everyone shoot off a cannon at 9 PM and burn a propane torch to counter act the effect of turning off your lights!!!!

just kidding- i think thats kinda cool. i was wondering why google was black, then came to spudfiles and now i know- ill turn my lights off at 8.

It'd be cool if they took one of those pics from space that show cities glowing at night from all the lights being on :)
