Hey everyone. I just recently bought a new Spyder ACS Paintball Gun for a great deal.
The gun, a 20 oz CO2 tank, cleaning kit and case all for $120.00

I have gone to other websites to get reviews on Spyder (this is my first one, as I usually stick with Tipmann...but this might just be a present for my cousin) Paint ball guns and all i hear is the same fake "It's the best gun I've ever used", and "Once you go Spyder, you'll never go back".

I want some Pros and CONS to this thing because with the electronic trigger and cheap price....there's gotta be some cons to it. So if anyone has had personal experience shooting Spyders (more specifically model: ACS) please tell me your opinion on reliability, durability, and feel.

Thanks much,
STHORNE

P.S. I also bought a $50.00 electronic hopper so there is no need to question/judge its bps.

I happen to own the exact same gun. Well, first off, it is a very nice gun, but the saying "you get what you pay for" does still apply here. 20bps with the stock board is definitely a pro, but if you are really serious about speedball, i would recommend installing a T-Board or other high end board. The "Anti-Chop Bolt" is really not as effective as they portray it to be. Bottom line: If you don't want to chop paint, you need a gun that has eyes installed (e.g. Spyder VS3.) It is a very well rounded beginner's gun. A couple other things: If you are using CO2, make sure you lube the barrel threads because when that thing gets cold, your barrel isn't going anywhere. And if you really care about the overall performance of your gun, you should replace a few things: The trigger (wiggles like hell), the trigger switch, the barrel, the feedneck, and the board. It also scratches pretty easily, so that might be a problem. I've never had mine jam on me, so thats always good too. Now, i have a Planet Eclipse ETEK Ego, i use this thing as a paperweight...
