Damn thats a pretty good deal. I actually have a harbor freight about an hour from my house, might venture over there soon...

Harbor Freights are forkin awsome. They have everything there. Killjoy definitely drop by it. I love them because you'll go in looking for one thing and come out with like a thousand other cool things and then you'll realize you forgot to buy what you went in for. I also bought my 5 vice there which rusts so freakin fast but with some nice black rustoleum spray paint it turned out well.[/end random banter]

I have that one, with about pff 500 dollars or tooling. And a 800 dollar 4 jawed chuck.

(the guy I bought it from.. didn't know a thing about stuff I guess.. I paid 900 dollars for the lathe, 2 chucks. (including the uber expensive Rohm chuck), and 4 buckets filled with cutting tools.
*edit* oh and a cooling pump.

@Necrosis thats not the lathe I have. We may have the same size lathe's, but yours looks like a gear head lathe. You got a great deal for $900.00. Look for a manufactures tag, I'd like to know who made it.

I have 3 metalworking lathes at work, but I don't know how to use 'em! Is there some kind of guide online?

It's a really old industrial lathe.
A meuser. (german) made in.. 1952 or so.
It runs like new and it can turn to about 0.05 mm precise. (it kinda changes with temperature changes so yeah i don't think any lathe can turn any closer.. )

Also It's fully operated by levers. So is the crossfeed. Crossfeed goes both ways too

Also it's about 2.5 metres long.

@Hailfire753, a good learning website is minilathe.com. cnczone.com is a monster forum for lathe's. .005 is tight, but a good cnclathe can probly get you to .0002, yes you read that correctly.
