The guy with the piece of pipe and the wool cloth looks so out of place...

Very cool Max!! I've contemplated building one of these for literally dozens of years....good on ya!!
Looks like you're well on your way there. Keep us posted on your progress.

What is it going to cost you to completed project?

It shoild cost a further £150 ($300) or so to finish..Most expensive components are the capacitors. Ridiculously expensive, even by eBay standards.

Seeing, that makes me want to put that up a spudgun's back hole and turning it on for the explosion... If you touch do you like get injured?

Looks like he's just polishing his rod to stick into that high voltage generator beside him.
Where was this anyways? I'm in Cambridge myself.

It was right next to the Cambridge Museum of Technology.

That's a Wimshurst Generator, it creates an electrostatic charge by rubbing two Acrylic discs against eachother.
He's attempting to introduce electrons onto the two discs by creating a negative charge on the pole, just like how you rub a balloon on your jumper.
One guy, Nick..His Solid State Tesla Coil went a bit hay-wire and a streamer hit his hand. Burnt a hole right from one side of his palm to the other.
They're called High Frequency Burns. I'm not sure what would happen on a Spark Gap Tesla Coil, probably the same thing I imagine..

I'm a little too familiar with high-frequency burns. I still couldn't imagine getting one all the way through my hand, though.
EDIT - and maxus, I know what he was doing. I'm just saying it looks a little out of place/funny in the middle of all the other experiments.

An actual hole? Jeez, bet that stung a bit.

I think he means two burns from one zap. Not a real hole.

On the contrary..
A very small hole from side to the other. Only through a small amount of skin, but a hole none-the-less.

Describing it that way makes it sound even more dodgy

OUCH

I thought it just burned both sides.
