I agree on the appearance.
Now, I'm rubbish with Aussie cars, but wasn't that 173ci I6 pressed for more than about 100 horsepower when new? And that was a good 25 years back.
That wouldn't be bad grunt for a city hatchback or just for getting around, but it's going to limit what it can do as a ute.
I've done a lot of work on engines around that age, and they can be right buggers.
Not that you've necessarily ended up with one of the bum engines I work on (which to be fair, are mostly badly treated diesels), and it will be fine for light work, but don't expect too much of it.

That is pretty neat, what are the specs on the engine?
Haha thanks guys. First off the rifling. Im doing it the old fashioned way of a dowel rod and nails albeit using a metal work lathe and RNA's mate got a 6 month sentence with a year probation thank god.
@FordGTMan:
If I was legally allowed to it would have a 502ci big block
@Gippeto:
Shes a beast. Sadly I have to find a new tray and twin headlight front clip like that one. And mines red and purple
@Ragnarok:
Spot on buddy. 125bhp. And yes it would have lost power over the years but Im going thoroughly over it and just checking it over (god bless having a family of mechanics) and to also kick her up the guts to get her moving is a new timing gear set and a triple weber or stromberg carbied set-up.
@Jitup:
If I could tell you mate I would
And Casino mate, she's a red motor with a black 202ci head .
Im gonna go take some piccies of me tonner as it is now and Ill up load them. Note I might be able to buy a 308ci V8 as well

Edit: oh yea, is there a low power limit in Australia or something? If so, bummer.
Edit: damnitt! sorry didnt see your post haha.
