i was planing on placing it in the furnace just after my dad has finished using it so it will be at 1000c, then just leave it in there while the furnace cools

will that work well for softening the file? ill worry about the rest of the proces once the blade is shaped

sorry i have no experience in any of this so any additional information would be much appreciated.
why make it if it dosent shoot?

A little something I made for jake as part of our ongoing cultural exchange, to convert his spring powered ballistic knife to pneumatic :)

Does jake plan on making it interchangeable with the spring?

In theory it would work with both, but using the spring might scratch the inside of the knife handle and compromise sealing.

Im thinking of keeping this pure pneumatic, the fun part is that its steel, so it can take ALOT of pressure :D

Its little rough, some spot welding and sanding will do miracles

And got time to finish this puukko!

Handle in this one is made from walnut, brass and reindeershide
Blade is silversteel, around 59hrc, and razor sharp as always
Shieth is made from 3.5mm bullhide, and has an insert made from birch

Some more of jake's talent, a nice little kiridashi - simple but unbelievably sharp! Can't wait for the puukko to get here too :D

Glad you like it JSR :) And for the sharpness, it is 52100 ballbearing steel, hardened to a whopping 67hrc. I literally shaved aluminium with it :D

Lab, tell me if ya want one

EDIT: and yeah, after shaving aluminium i didn't even resharpen it
