I found this at a thrift store for $150. It is in pretty nice shape and has all the accessories. The only thing I have left to buy for it is a lathe chuck, which after doing some more research will probably cost me more than this machine.

For those who are not familiar with the Shopsmith, it has many functions. It is a lathe, a drill press, a table saw, and a disc sander all combined into one. Its freakin awesome!

Damn! That's a nice find. All I can ever find in my local thrift store is old clothes and other crap no one wants.

Yes, it is the Mark 5. It was made in 1971.

I plan on first restoring this thing a bit, it needs a new belt and is missing a few small things. The motor is still running strong and everything on it is in working order.

I have a thrift store here that is dedicated to home improvement called habitat home supply. Most of the store is things that contractors have donated like leftover doors and windows. There is also a lot of furnature and appliances donated. But once in a while they get in a sweet tool and when that happens, I try to get on top of it first.
