i know for a fact that the cricut cand cut custon designs, my aunt has one and uses it to make cards. it easily makes custom words but you can even draw your own design on the computer

Are you sure she is actually drawing her own designs, or is she just arranging purchased designs in a custom way? There is a big difference between the two, and everything I have seen about the Cricut machine indicates that all you can do is rearrange the designs and use the fonts purchased through cartridges. I just went to their website to double check and couldn't find anything indicating that you could actually draw your own design.

oh im not sure witch one it is. but for words i know that it wont only cut out seperate letters but woth some of the fonts it will link each letter in a word together.
