Fake yet real RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade) idea.

K i am dieing to build this but im only 16, parents would not exactly aprove. But for those of you who know what a model rocket it, i found a way to use them as Rocket propelled grenades. Its extremely cool, extremely dangerous but still... extremely cool. Now for those who do not know what a model rocket is or how they work i will explain so you better understand my idea in the end. Below is a picture of a model rocket engine. A model rocket engine consists of 4 things, the cardboard/paper wrapping it is encased in, clay to control steam of fire, and fuel/explosive powder and open space. When a model rocket engine is ignited, it burns through the larget section of its fuel, out the exaust nosel formed of clay on the bottom, eventually as it burns it will reach the the second region of clay, which has a small hole through it, the heat from the burning goes through the hole, igniting a second region of powder that acts an explosive charge. This charge is used to push a parachute out of the rocket in order to safely return it to earth from however many hundreds or thousands of feed it has gone into the air. Now what me and some guys used to do at a summer camp was we would rip apart about 10 engines, chop of the powder while removing the clay and wrapping, this would leave us with pure explosive powder. We would then take a large size engine either a D or an E the small engines that dont require linceses range from aa-E, aa being weakest. Now the next step, would be to assemble a very cheap model rocket maybe 5 dollars or so or 2 if scrap parts, we would put the engine in first, we would then just dump all of the poder into the rocket above the engine where the second charge goes off, after doing this we would tape the nosecone shut so that the only way for the blast to push something is by blowing up the rocket into nothing but tiny pieces. So basically, we fire, 10 seconds later HUGE BANG from 1000 feet in the air. My idea, if to use this concept of replica rocket propelled grenades and pvc piping or copper pipe, im thinking copper surrounded by pvc for extra blast and heat protection, to hold the rockets in and serve as a launch pad. All it takes to ignire a rocket is an igniter plug which can easily be fed into the tube with the rocket on it. The plug is just 2 wires and some thing on the tip of them, when an electric charge from 4 AA batteries is sent through it, it heats up to the point of firing the engine. If this was attached to the launcher, and the launcher was protected from the heat and had an exaust pipe on it for the fumes and heat pushing out of the engine, you could potentially make a fake yet real RPG launcher. Just aim, press the button, igniter burns, engine ignites, rocket goes flying almost perfectly at the target, once the engine burns through, target is, in theory, seriously damaged or obliterated.

PLZ NOTE I AM OF NO SORT A TERRORIST THIS IS SIMPLY A CONCEPT USED ONLY FOR FUN NOT TO BE AIMED AT ANY LIVING THING, EVER. SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS IF YOU DO TRY THIS MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING FIRST.

sorry to burst your bubble but your talking about what would be classified as a real firearm...
also, the discussion of solid propellants and explosive projectiles isnt welcome on this board.
go check out totse.com

they'd love ya.

It's not exactly a fake RPG if you are building a REAL grendae with a rocket. Have fun with the cops, because I am sure this is not legal in any state.

P.S. I seriously read an article about a 16 year old who is facing adult charges because they found 16 explosive devices in his house and blueprints and keys to his school.

If you've read the forums rules, your not alud to talk about things like this on here, try BC Pneumatics, they love this kind of stuff.

I sure read em, i read the whole thing...
I also read:

Discussion of solid propellants, explosive devices or incendiary projectiles fired specifically from a spud cannon is prohibited, and may result in a permanent banning of your account. For the purpose of this forum, these definitions will be used:

1. Solid propellant: Any substance containing all the chemical elements required to enable sustained combustion without the presence of additional oxidizers. This includes but is not limited to gunpowder, thermite, and many commercial and/or homemade pyrotechnic compounds.
1. For this purpose, nitroglycerine, though liquid, would qualify.
2. For this purpose, ordinary flour, though solid, would not qualify.
2. Explosive device: Any device that has the capability to release large amounts of stored energy rapidly.
1. Discussion of fireworks as projectiles is prohibited.
2. Discussion of "soda bottle bombs" or any other similar devices that may cause shrapnel as a result of uncontrolled rupture is prohibited.
3. Incendiary projectile: Any projectile that is capable of producing flame.
1. Rocket propelled projectiles, pyrotechnic smoke bombs, or any other burning projectiles would qualify as an incendiary projectile.

hmmm... you really don't want to talk about explosive devices here.. this is a spud gun only site, not a weapons concept site. likewise, check out the sites that zvallance1 and atlantis spoke of. they will gladly (if not happily) accept these concepts.

Sorry but I woulden't listen to you for the fact that you call it "explosive powder". The powder used for rockets is no where near explosive, it burns slowelly.

Even though I support interesting creative projects like this, this doesn't quite suite this forum and may attract a negative light to spudguns.

I suggest taking it to bcpneumatics.com
