Well I'm back to the idea of a portable 12v compressor to fill up my bbmg air tank on the go. I am just having trouble finding the right one... I mean I need one with a battery so I can run around the field and still fill up and I don't need one that is extremely high pressure or anything. 200 psi is fine, since I will only be filling it to like 140 or something. It also needs to be able to fill up a fire extinguisher relatively quickly. I would like to buy it from amazon.com since I can probably get it free, and I would like it to be less than 40 dollars... (spudder's budget ) so can anybody help me find a good one?

and I think it is portable and doesn't need to be plugged in to work. How long should one of these last on one charge?

You can get them for pretty cheap at walmart(15 bucks) with car battery plugs. Just cut the end off and solder a switch and how many ever 9 volt battery clips you need.

Yeah dude but those compressors are cheapo and would just blow through 9v batteries which are extremely expensive.

I don't need 800 psi! My tank has only been tested to 360, which only makes me feel safe at most 200 psi.

What you are asking for is almost impossible with a 12V. I've seen adverts saying "Fills up an average car tyre in 5 minutes!" So think about a BBMG tank....

Maybe a quarter of the size of a car tire, and most of the 12v's I was looking at claimed at most 3 minutes, making the fill time for my tank somewhere around a minute.

Any 12v compressor you get will be pretty much the same thing, loud and cant stand up to continuous duty. They were designed to work a couple times for a few minutes in emergencies when you want to pump up your car tire. But if your set on getting one I would just get the cheapest one available so if it does fail after a couple weeks then you can slap a new one in.

As spudblaster said, you can power most of these with those rc car batteries, so you dont have to worry about replacing them.

edit: Ive used things like this they last for a reasonable time, they can be had dirt cheap (got mine for 2 bucks) and they can be stripped down to be made even more portable. The main problems are they are pretty noisy and have tendency to fall apart after extended use haha. But because they are so cheap you dont have to worry about trying to fix them.

Ok cool, I have a few spare RC batteries so I may try it if I ever buy one.

What about this one, it's super cheap and has good reviews, do you think it can run off a RC battery?

i have done this with a cheap $15 one and a 9.6v battery pack, i would get to 120, and it did take a while... But mine is almost 6 years old and we have used it heaps the motor still spins but i dont know how much longer it will do so...

What i'm saying is get a cheap one and run it at the right power and it'll last you a few games atleast....

But car tires are filled to 37 PSI, dont you operate the gun at 120 so Id guess closer to 3-4 minutes.

on Clemsonguys idea you could use the rechargeable airsoft batteries OR you could use a car batter in a backpack to power the portable compressor

Buy A cheap mini compressor and replace the motor with a cheap cordless drill. It'll pump faster, and now you don't have to worry about batteries
