LOL.. The real lyrics are online..

To further the offtopic thread and with a tiny relation to music.. I found this gem.. The RIAA would love to have this ability against music piracy..
By the early 1980s, the Soviet Union was searching for better technology for its industrial control systems, and the simplest and cheapest way to develop state-of-the-art software was by pinching it from the West. This, however, was to prove a costly mistake.

The USA – deeply troubled by the emergence of Russia’s gas pipelines as a major economic beating stick to wield over Europe – learned of the Soviets’ intentions to steal software, and thought the opportunity of giving them bogus code was too good to pass up.

In a classic piece of espionage that would earn a standing ovation from John Le Carré, the CIA uncovered a KGB operation to harvest technical details and set up a counter-intelligence sting

In a classic piece of espionage that would earn a standing ovation from John Le Carré, the CIA uncovered a KGB operation to harvest technical details and set up a counter-intelligence sting.

Working on a tip-off from a French connection who had defected from Russia, US agents planted a specially modified version of the pipeline software at the Canadian company the KGB was targeting.

The time bombs in the software were so cunningly hidden that the code passed Russian inspection and went into the master control system for a pipeline designed to carry over 40 billion cubic metres of gas a year to Europe.

The software wreaked havoc with the pipes. As valves, pumps and turbines turned on and off at random, internal pressure reached bursting point, rupturing the pipe and causing an explosion that could be seen from space. Remarkably, no-one was hurt, but the tactic was the sort of copyright protection the record industry would kill for.
Clipped shamelessly from this page..

After a long rant about the eternal complaining of certain fans, Ragnarok wrote:In a choice between a slightly different Nightwish and no Nightwish, I'll take the former please (if it's not to my liking, I'll just ignore it and listen to old albums). Anyway, I like Marco's singing.
I very much agree with you. Dark Passion Play is different (and pretty good IMO), something some people need to learn to accept.

@ramses: Uhhhhhhh yeah... I don't know what's more creepy, the amount of views on that video or the fact those sound almost spot-on.

I'm sorry but I would struggle to drive around in a car listening to Nightwish, or have someone ask who i'm listening to on my iPod and me responding with 'Nightwish' or my parents coming in to my room to tell me to turn down the music which happens to be Nightwish.

Symphonic Metal isn't a huge leap away from Symphonic Black Metal... :P

Well then I guess we have very different friends and parents. When I said I was listening to Nightwish the first time I got some good responses. "Dimmu Borgir"? Most people were confused, parents said turn it off, not "Turn it up so I can hear..." (Yeah my parents are metalheads too :D)

This is a physics-related forum. Therefore metal is the primary genre of music (possibly at the exclusion of all others ) allowed. In case nobody else has noticed, there is a disproportionate amount of metalhead engineering and physics majors out there. :headbang:

This thread is developing too much of a topic... somebody save us quickly

To be fair, I no longer listen to post-Enthrone Darkness Triumphant Dimmu Borgir aside from the song Kings of the Carnaval Creation. :)

By the way, the 'turning down the music' bit I mentioned above was not because of what type of music it was, I meant it would just be embarrassing to be caught listening to Nightwish...in my opinion :P

I really only listen to death/black/folk/viking metal these days and only European bands...

Too many to list, and they've all endured...wonder how the "new" bands will fare 30 years from now.

Most bands I listen to, and most famous metal bands people here listen to have been around 20 years, some even more. In the metal genre at least, these bands wont be forgotten in a mere 30 years. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry on the otherhand...

I have a huge 140 song playlist dedicated to the music from the era in your post...While I am a metalhead, I do enjoy a good song from the 70s or 80s haha.
