SpudFiles

Seems like everything is going to facebook these days. Theres an old spudfiles page but it was abandoned years ago and the person with admin abilities is long gone. Would anybody be interested in having one. Ill be happy to start it if anyone wants. Feel free to close this if it violates the rules or anything since PCGUY owns the site. If a mod would rather, feel free.

I absolutely REFUSE to use facebook. Wife loves it....I....don't.

I had a very low opinion about facebook, until I tried it. It's an amazing way to communicate. It's social networking. I'm all for a Spudfiles FB page.

Thanks for the feedback, facebook is actually very helpful for communication. Ill wait for a comment from the mods before I start on it, and I think Ill add a poll.

Meh. I use Facebook only so people can add me to events, be they spontaneous "We haven't seen each other for a while, let's go to the cinema" dealies or doing the entire lighting rig for a concert.

Other than that, I couldn't care less*.

*And no, I do not mean "I could care less" - I have no idea why such a nonsensical variant gets used at all. It's the precise opposite of what they actually mean.

A group wouldn't be to bad but can you use chat without being friends? We could make it private so I or the other admin would have to approve you, you would just send a request to join with your spudfiles username.

you don't have to be friends to use the chat if you're in a group, you just have to be invited

Thats cool, groups have kinda started to die since the new facebook upgrades but that might be good so we dont have issues with spammers.

Ppl from countries where spuding is illegal won't be interested in it

Not that it is a bad idea, but it would be better to fix and upgrade the chatroom. You might as well consider using skype - it has some pretty cool plugins that allow you to draw in real time, etc.

ohh now that I mentioned that - it would be pretty cool if there was a simple unit converter and calculator somewhere on SF.

Personally I dont really want to get into skype but maybe. I know some will not be interested PCGUY is fixing the chatroom in the next upgrade. A group or page would have other uses such as posting a simple picture of a new gun or off topic posts.
