No, I thought the house was collapsing cause it was built in the 40's when good building supplies where slim pickings.

Have you seen how houses are built lately?? In my opinion, they were built stronger then than now, for sure. I frame and roof on a daily basis, and if your home was built in the 40s, then it probably has actual real 2 X 4s, and heavy duty wood!!

30 miles south of me lies Baltimore City. The news is reporting a chimney went down and a Church steaple was damaged. All the train lines are shut down until further notice...

Same with the air traffic. They want to make sure that ATC will still operate before letting more planes into the air.

Everything is getting shut down for inspection. You have to remember here on the east coast will built for hurricanes, not earthquakes.

At first I couldn't see how this was hardly even newsworthy, but then I realized that this is the first time i've ever even heard of an earthquake on the east coast. So, is this an interesting occurence or just an occurence?

Light rails, subways and bridges are opened back up but at reduced speeds. 10 nucular plants are shut down, it's gonna be a "brown" night as far as power goes. I'm glad I'm not to far from the river, Conowingo dam to be exact...
