Fridge compressors and recycling centres

If i go the Recycling Centre (just round the corner) will i be able to get a fridge compressor?

Thats like going to a gas station and asking do you sell gas? lol

Probably not, but you may get lucky. When you buy a refrigerator these days, the people selling you the fridge often offer you 50 dollars for your old one and free removal. I have went looking at my local center a few times and have struck out. Look around at yard sales for those little mini refrigerators, the compressor in those will work just as good!! Happy hunting!! :D :D

Seriously jsefcik, it's around the bloody corner, just go there. You'll only lose twenty minutes if you're a slow walker.

Anyway, they'll definitely have them, but if they'd give you one is another matter.

no not really, the scrap yard is like 10 miles, not a lil distance

Well they drain the oil and the refrigerant and then put the compressors in a cage for landfill so they might give me one anyhow ts recycling :D

So that's around 15-16km, you've got it easy. My "local" scrapyard is 40km.

most mini fridges are compressor less, and very dangeres to open so beware. also full size fridge compressors have poor flow so i would aim for the biggest one i could find.
