4 way problem

I recently purchased a 4 way, indirect acting valve for a school project (reason iv'e been so inactive lately) I hooked it up to my piston and triggered it with a 24v power supply(pressurized to 60psi). It essentially works but in the second position, It leaks out of the R/exhaust port. Does anybody know what the problem is? It could be a defective valve since I bought it in chinatown though I hope thats not the case...

is a distributor 3/2 ....

No, it is a 4/2 valve. And when I said It leaks out of the exhaust port, I meant it leaks even when the double acting cylinder is fully extended. I tried pinching the line of the cylinder (once extended) to check if maybe the inside seal was the problem but it didn't affect the leak at all implying that the valve is defiantly the problem.

Your not the only one haha.
Pneu, try attaching it to a push button switch, that way you can open it at a push of a button, and then the sharp cut off of power should revert it back to normal.

I think that a push button switch, AND a relay timer would be even better, but yeah, a push button switch would do JUST fine.

thx so now I know that everything is connected the way it should
Does it leak in both positions or only in one position ? It is possible that this is 100% normal (ie. valve leaks because of the way it operates)

It only leaks when it is energized. I don't think it's normal though since I got it to work properly
twice.... out of the 500 times i've tried to get it working. FML.
try attaching it to a push button switch
think that a push button switch, AND a relay timer would be even better
It's all going to be controlled by an arduino when I'm done. I'll probably post a video of it when it's finished and if we can solve this delay in time. That is if you guys care to see it. "it" is a secret

take the air line that doesnt have air pressure off the air ram if there is air coming out then the seals in the air ram a worn or damaged

Yes, I already tried that but thanks for the suggestion anyway
The leak seems to have gotten better overnight but it's still their. Before going to bed I removed the solenoid and poured quite a bit of silicon oil into the valve. Now my question is if it's normal to have to lubricate these types of valves so much or if their is a problem inside with the spool assembally?

let me guess it doesn't leak much, right ??
apparently port R is where air from the solenoid is vented (as well as air from ports A and B)....
if that's the case then it is perfectly normal
In some valves air from the solenoid is vented through the solenoid tube itself...
if you want to be sure that's everything is ok check if there is any air exhausted theough the top of the valve when you switch it
if it doesn't and there isn't a hole there then you know why - vented air from the solenoid is directed to the exhaust port (port R)

How much was this valve? Did the push to connect connectores came with it?
