Seriously, I would happily leave a kid back for a few weeks for a break from him/her... As long as he is staying with your parents, don't worry about him. Just focus on your job and making money.

Hey I understand,
Not that I have a kid but it's something we can imagine. You still have soime time before your 6 weeks out, so make them count! And you know, by the time you're actually up there for 6 weeks, it'll pass really quickly. Normal to be a little upset, just don't let it eat you!!
Plus, if you applied, means you want that, and part of you is already commited to do it.
Anyways, hope it's a great opportunity for you and your future life

Every person who has worked, been fired and had to find a new job wrote:Go to where the work is.

So, I never really caught anything before this, but did you have to "know someone" going into this place? I'm just kinda wondering how you went from a beater job at a restaurant, to a *~$25/hour engineering position that quick.
*Oh, edit nvm. I missed your work hours there. That's quite a long week don'tcha think? I do ten-hour days and it's still a PITA.

I agree, 12 dollars an hour is alot for a kid just getting outta high school. Its hard to find a job period, nevermind at 12 an hour!! I make 25 to 40 dollars an hour depending on the job, however, I have been framing and roofing a LONG ASS time!!

I was simply saying it's different, for a 12 hour day here for someone just out of school you can get 25/hour for CBH (grain), more on mines. I'm taking a gap year and doing some work for the shire in the meantime, pay rate is about 23/hour + benefits. That's just how it is in Australia
