is it possible to make a little... something that I could plug a thumb/flash drive into and carry around listening to music?
I know thats a very vague description but do you think its possible? I'd want it at most to be alittle bigger than a shuffle. just throwing it out there...
mp3 idea

I made one from some scraped/destroyed players that the guy working at radio shaq gave me for free, i bought a 2 gig thumb drive and then attached all the bits and peices to it and i put it inside a pez disposer (the battery had to be put on the outside.) IT LOOKED AWSOME till it broke.

i think m3nt4l used one of those mp3 players that has the removable flash drive.
or he could be a one-upper, as most players use smt technology, which is a !@@!! to solder...
it could be done though, and i THINk you could do it with a gumstix computer and a Lipo batery, butt it would probably be beter to go with a storebought player

i've seen a few mp3 players that are $15. of course they come with no on-board memory and only have basic functions (play, stop, next, back) they have no display but you know its only $15 (i think i saw one for $9 a little while ago, and it was brand new)
