what if a person only had 30 posts and he realized the rules of the contest required him to have 50

So that real Spudfile members enter instead of straglers off the street don't come in and snake a win.

First off....don't double post......Second to answer your question....My guess is that that may be a measure of experience..And he doesn't just want people signing up to post a cannon that may not even be worthy to put in the contest...i.e. it would just junk up the forum about the cannons...but I am not sure..So don't take my word for granted

#1, this contest is for members, anyone can be a member but I do not want someone to sign up, enter, win, and leave. It's kind of pointless.
#2, this is the main reason. If anyone can make an account and post a cannon, then people would build a few and enter them under different accounts to increase their chances of winning.
#3, don't ever make a bunch of posts in a row to try to get closer to 50. You will be very quickly disqualified.
This is your only warning.

Ive been a member since Sept. 05 of 06', does that make me a "stragler off the street" ?

Well looks to me like it's the 25th, and you obviously haven't been very active in the forum or your post count would be higher. You're just that guy off the street that stops by to say hi every now and then, not a contributing member.

I actually check these forums at least 3-7 times a week, I just don't post much.

Therefore not a contributing member. If I checked in on my soccer team 4 or 5 times a game, would that make me a contributing member of the team? No.

What do you want me to contribute, I have a very limited knowledge of spudguns...

Well perhaps you should sit this one out and be a quiet listener until you can put forth your own opinions on matters. In addition by saying that you have a limited knowledge of spudguns, you admit that you probaly wont be building a cannon that would win in this competition, so whats the big deal? If anything the 50 posts is saving you from embarressment. If you really want to be a member, just learn from the site and then put forth information of your own.

Then post concepts..ideas..theories..thoughts...and use the search and the internet to learn more!!!! I didn't know that much either..but within a couple days I got sooo much information just off of these forums...All you have to do is sit down for a while and search...not just check the new messages..just a little thought to add to your knowledge
