I'm back guys...by dial-up, wich kinda sucks, but anyway..
what did I miss??

I noticed some guy used the basculating "break-barrel"design I posted a long time ago.It turned out nice!!

I also was surprised to see an ultimate inline copy wich used the add-ons I suggested to Mr Plow!!
( you should've listened Neospud!! That thing looks good!!!)

I didn't see a lot of really innovating stuff...too bad.
I haven't innovated much myself...I renovated...does that count??!? :D

Overkill is still unfinished, but I improved the chamber. It's now as close to the barrel as possible. That thing is just too big to look pretty, no matter what I do.
I have all of the fittings to make it work, but it looks like a goddarn freight train.  I need to figure out a way to make it look the part... 8)

I'm also planning to build a strafer of some sort, but out of galvanised steel, using full CO2 pressure ( maybe just tone down the flow a bit)
Don't know if I'll use ( readily available) bb's or marbles..

still driving back and forth to work about 3.5 hours a day, so don't expect to see much happening the next 3 weeks.
Anyway..I moved and now have acres of farmland waiting to be impacted by whatever I choose to part with..

Can't wait to start my new job and start some serious building.

( btw, my brother is working on a 6.5 inch piston cannon, the big-BIG version of Chappy!!)

can't wait to see any cannons you've cooked up. Also sam tex's piston can't wait for that either. what do you have for like all of your needs ,probably a whally world right? or do you not have walmarts there?

your back!!! :o :( 8) :) :D :D

Through my line of work I have contact with wholesalers.
I spoke a manufacturer of HP-washers.He said the handle can take the 900 psi of pure CO2.
He is going to send me a pistol grip this week with specially modified fittings, so I can attach a CO2 tank directly....for cheap!!

I am also in the process of building a large safety pop-off valve if you will, wich at the point of a small leakidge, pops open a 1"hole like a piton valve.
In other words, an automated valve that will release a large quantity of air at high pressure( adjustable even)
I wanted that to build a real machinegun like MMG..

Or..I could use the valve as the exhaust on a regular piston gun and run that full auto. The pressure washer handle would be the fill valve, pushing in the Co2 directly. Then everytime the exhaust valve would hit , say, 20 bar, the gun would discharge.

Large bore full auto would be possible this way.( been done small scale with a 100 psi pop-off valve)

It's good to be back, but a bit confusing..I had over 6000 new messages!!
If there is anything exciting, I should know about, let me know!

Hey Brian, Europe was f*cking awesome, especially Germany, Our teachers stayed two nights in Austria while we were billited(homestay)with a german family for 2nights, on the second nights we booked out a bar and got to drink till the bar was empty! Ourt teachers didn't mind the next day when half our group threw up in the vans. Anyway I hope Holland/The Netherlands is similar to Germany in that sence if I ever go there.

When I came back I only had 500+ or so new topics and 4000 new messages :(

The 6.5 inch pipe is rated at 16 bar

The pressure washer ( totally different gun) is rated to 200 bar

Holland can be like Germany, depends on where you go...

Throwing up in a van is a national passtime here

Ahh good for you to be back BTB!Same thing happened to me I was away for about 3 months and I had a crazy amount of messages.

Dial-up aye, better then nothing used it for along time it gets the job done-slowly...Were abouts are you in Holland were there isn't much access to internet connections? When I was there a few years back there didn't seem like many places wouldn't have access due to the small size of the country,no offence but it is small.

Germany and Holland are kind of alike, same climate except on the seaside of Holland. But Holland is alot flatter from what I can recall so its easy to get around on pushbike which was my main way of transport.

150mm piston, wow thats going to be big.Running it at 16bar or bellow its pressure rating?

I so hope he's not gonna push that thing to it's rating!!

About a month ago Chappy exploded in my hands at 9 bar by the way...

All was fine untill my brother slammed open the ballvalve.BIG BOOM...
First I was a bit shellshocked I guess...then the pain set in...The shrapnell nearly cut off two of my fingers ( still have em...healed up nicely) and a big chunk hit my thigh ( shooting from tha hip...)and managed to make me bleed without damaging my pants (???)
It looked like a ( very large) abrasion.went blue and yellowish green after a day or two..
Imagine the chunk of plastic has like an ich of room between the starting point of it's journey untill it's end...compare that to a 1 kilogram projectile after 2 meters of push out of a barrel..that thing was SO lethal, I'm glad I never got shot with it...
I couldn't figure out why it had exploded...it shouldn't have...An why at the very moment the pressure should have dropped. The back end was, although separated at the T, still fine, even the piston looked okay..

Later we figured it out...We were shooting cans full of sand and water...and my brother had put them IN THE FREEZER!!!
The can had been in the barrel for too long, so it froze the barrel, while the chamber was still allright..
Strangely enough, not only the barrel blew up, but the entire valve is now an instant cutaway model.
Well....it proved to me i should stick to metal. This would not have happened on one of my guns.....

brian! so the chamber on your brother's new gun is going to be 6.5 inches in diameter? how long, and what size porting on the valve? what about the barrel? I'm just curious.

Barrel will be 110 mm, the valve porting will be bigger as he plans to use a venturi as the port.
Length will be over 2 meters for the reservoir, maybe a 4 meter barrel.

It's hard to hold him back with these kind of things. He lives in the middle of a major city...what-you-gonna-do-bout-it...

How is he going to use a venturi as a port?Isn't a venturi caused by air mocing over a sealed area making a low pressure system?

2m chamber 4m barrel,wow can't wait to see it.
