i made a metal piston gun it worked great for about 3 shots :cry: and then the wood piston i had made broke so you guys have any ideas for a piston about an 1 1/2 long that will fit inside a 3/4 inch galvanized nipple ty

i built a rubber bumper for it i also probably shouldn't use wood at 400psi :lol:

HDPE works fine. Here is an inch and a half piston made for my Mouse Musket, a coax with a 2 inch chamber and 1 inch barrel. It wouldn't take much to adapt this to other sizes. My barrel has an o ring seat, so the piston does not need a rubber face. I made it that way to make the piston lighter.

i would be cool but i don't have any readily available hdpe nor any ability to accurately machine it (at the moment) i was thinking a hot glue piston do you think that would hold up to 400 psi :?

How did you make the wood one?
HDPE can most often use the same tools.

HDPE often comes disguised as a cutting board. :D

i used a sweeper sick and some sand paper lol also i was trying to do it with things i had on hand i didn't want to have to order anything

Ive used hot glue at 350 in my brass HP gun over 50 times so far altough im swithcing out to epoxy for neatness and to handle the aussie heat
