6mm Duster gas gun
Ok, so i am building a 6mm pneumatic that runs on Duster gas(with an airsoft duster gas adapter). I had a broken airsoft gas pistol that ran on duster, so i stripped it of its parts and used the fill valve. I also found a T fitting(3/8 inch) that is male on all 3 sides. i then took a 12 gram empty co2 cartridge, drilled out the nozzle, and flared it then attached it to the T. I then took the fill valve and put it inside another one of the openings on the t, put an o ring on it, then screwed a female fitting over it to secure it. I plan on adding a 3/8 inch mini ball valve, and a quite long barrel. This will only be a single shot rifle. it will be a U shaped cannon(cant remember the word). It has been a year or two since i built a cannon, so bare with me. Thw whole thing is VERY compact, it will be about 1 foot in legnth. And i am not going to use a stock like i did in the pic.

You should use one of those 88g Co2 cartridges instead of a 12g. It will make it a little bigger but will need less filling.

he has to refill it every shot regardless the size of the chamber.blackhawk13 wrote:You should use one of those 88g Co2 cartridges instead of a 12g. It will make it a little bigger but will need less filling.
you should remove the co2 cartridge and put the co2 duster fill valve behind a 1/4" QEV

OK thanks for clarifying that. I don't know why but for some reason I thought he was building a bbmg.
I dont really want to change this up much. I want it to stay small, and VERY simple, thats y i chose the BV. its not supposed to be some big advanced gun, its just something small, cheap, and simple so i can get back into the game of spudgunning again. I will move onto the bigger more complicated stuff later.

1/4" QEVs can be less than ten dollars, and it can be as compact as you need it. they aren't fiddly, actually the opposite, they are even simpler than SVs

Yeah i know how much they are and how compact they are, i have made cannons with QEVs, sprinkler valves, BVs, and i have made coaxails. But now i think about it i MIGHT go down to Fastenal sometime and pick up a 3/8 inch QEV when i get some money. So far my list of parts consists of either a 3/8 inch qev, 3/8 inch brass elbow(90 degree), and a barrel, or 2 90 degree elbows, 3/8 inch BV and barrel.

I have totally changed the design of this pistol. I decided to use parts that i already had(3/8 to 1/4 adapter, 1/4 inch ball valve, and an old airsoft barrel) and kinda rebuilt this. I have found out that when i fill it up(holding the can upside down so the liquid enters the chamber, like you do with airsoft gas guns), then open the valve the air keeps comming out the barrel for about 2-3 seconds at a fairly high pressure. I also found a nice high quality Colt 1911 frame(airsoft), and put the Gun internals in the 1911 frame to make a gas pistol. There is also a spring attached to the ball valve handle(trigger) so that when i release my finger from the trigger, the trigger returns to its original position, allowing for multiple shots. I now need to come up with some sort of magazine for it. i will take some pictures and post em up tommorrow when i have some sunlight.

If you put the internals in that case, then the BV won't be able to open very far, unless you trim the handle a bit. Sounds good.
